In this year's competition each student team must design an autonomous robot/vehicle to alternately deposit 6 ping-pong balls into two cups at the end of a 2’ x 12’ track. The robot must originally hold all of the balls within its 8" x 12" x 10" maximum dimensions. Points are earned based on delivering the balls in the proper sequence and according to various constraints, including a 120 second time limit.. Bonus points can also be earned if all 6 balls are delivered in the proper sequence in less than 120 seconds. A significant portion of the final team score is also based on a presentation that each team makes before a panel of judges and a team report. See the 2007 Official Rules for full details. Prizes: As stated in the official rules, the top three
teams will receive nice plaques.
Additionally, SolidWorks has offered to provide copies of the student
edition of SolidWorks to all team members on the first place team! The software will be presented during the
awards ceremony at the end of the competition. |
