Stark State College – Team “X Wing”

North Canton, OH

2007 ASEE Model Design Competition
Honolulu, HI
June 25, 2007

Stark State College’s Team “X Wing” was the competition’s crowd pleaser as they were the only team to attempt what others dared not try - to launch the balls into the pockets.  The audience cheered as it fired balls across the track and groaned at the near misses.  Their team score wasn’t very high, but it was a daring design.  One of their team members was asked by a judge during the presentation: “Why did you decide to launch the balls at the baskets?”  He summed it up well with “Because it is awesome!”

Team Members:
Athen Grimm, Taylor Symensma, Rob Ashley, Kirk Lesko, Austin Grim

Faculty Advisors:
Andy Milks (Amilks@starkstate.edu ), Eric Loew, Greg Harstine
