The 2005 competition differed significantly different from the last several. Each student team had to design an autonomous robot/vehicle to deliver ping-pong balls to 4 corner pockets on a square 8' x 8' track. The robot was required to originally hold all of the balls within its 12" x 12" x 6" maximum dimensions. Points were earned based on the number of balls transferred to the pockets within 60 seconds and points were also based on the distribution of the balls between the 4 pockets. A significant portion of the final team score was also based on a presentation that each team makes before a panel of judges. See the 2005 Official Rules for full details. |
