This year's competition featured a track made from two 4'x8' sheets of plywood with one sheet at a severe upward angle and the second sheet at a slight downward angle. The vehicles needed to start and finish in designated areas at the lowest part of the track and had to pass into a turn area at the top of the track in between. A black line was provided for vehicles that wished to use line sensing, but this approach was not required. Each student team had to design an autonomous vehicle to complete the course as quickly as possible. The vehicles were subject to limitation in size, batteries, and cost. See the official rules for full details. The results of the competition are as follows: (Select a team below for photos) |
