Michael J. French Memorial Engineering Scholarship
2006 Award Recipients


The TCC Engineering Club, along with the scholarship selection committee, is pleased to announce that four students were selected to receive scholarships from the Michael J. French Memorial Engineering Scholarship.  The selection committee was pleased with the quality of the applications received and felt that the students selected to receive the scholarships were each outstanding individuals in both academics and character.  The committee is confident that these students will continue to excel and is glad to be able to assist them financially as they pursue careers in engineering.

Michael Foglietti
Educational Goal:  Michael plans to transfer into the aerospace engineering program at Virginia Tech.  His ultimate goal is to become a USAF fighter pilot.

James Martin
Educational Goal:  James plans to transfer into the computer engineering department at Virginia Tech.  His career goals include working as a software engineer and starting his own engineering firm.

Gregory Moyer
Educational Goal:  Gregory plans to pursue a civil engineering degree from ODU with a minor in environmental engineering.  Afterwards he also plans to pursue a master’s degree in structural engineering.

Peter Sylvester
Educational Goal:  Peter is considering several transfer options, but plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  He is also considering pursuing a law degree in the area of intellectual property after completing his engineering degree.
