An entry from the 2010 competition

Description:  In this year's competition each student team must design an autonomous robot/vehicle that is capable of harvesting six red dowel rods representing dead trees, while not moving the six green dowels that represent live trees.  The colored dowels will be placed in a roandom color pattern prior to each run.  Teams have a maximum of 120 seconds to complete the task. In order to emphasize reliability, the total score will consist of the sum of the four time trial scores, along with the scores for a team presentation before a panel of judges and a written report.  See the 2011 Official Rules for full details (link to the right).

Prizes:  As stated in the official rules, the top three teams will receive nice plaques.  Participating team members will also receive copies of the student edition of SolidWorks.  SolidWorks is a sponsor of the competition.
