2nd Place and 4th Place
Broome Community College

Binghamton, NY
2000 ASEE Model Design Competition
St. Louis, MO
June 19, 2000

Broome Community College entered two vehicles into the competition and captured both 2nd Place and 4th Place.
Midnight Engineers - This team entered a well-designed car that had a couple of interesting features.  First of all, it had headlights!  The lights were turned on just before starting the car and pointed at the track to help the car locate the line.  Secondly, the car had a slight downhill bias and when it drifted far enough downhill to bump into the line it would correct the steering uphill slightly.  Its onboard microprocessor took over during the turn.  (See video on previous page.)
Rubic - This team designed a cam-driven car.  It was very fast, but had difficulty getting over the peak in the track at the halfway point.  (See video on previous page.)
