Professor of Business Management  (1972-1973 ; 1974-1984; 1986-Present)   Tidewater Community College, Chesapeake, Virginia.  Have taught practically all courses in the business and economics curriculum. In 1996, began teaching Cultural Geography.  Taught for the Navy's PACE Program on board the USS Farragut during a Mediterranean deployment and the USS  Lasalle during a Middle Eastern deployment.  Traveled throughout Western Europe and portions of Africa.

Lecturer  (1984-1986)  The University of Maryland--Asian Division.  Taught business courses to students stationed on U.S. military bases in  Korea, Japan, the Phillipines, and Australia.  During the summer of 1985, became an exchange faculty with Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xian, Shaanxi Province, China.  Traveled throughout Asia between semesters.

American Red Cross Field Representative  (1973-1974)  Administered the blood collection program for Eastern Virginia and North Carolina. 

Budget Analyst  (1971-1972)  Department of Commerce, Boulder, Colorado.  Prepared and analyzed budget requirements for the Environmental Research Laboratory of NOAA. 

Management Analyst  (1969)  U.S. General Accounting Office, Washington, D.C.  Prepared a management audit of the Automatic Data Payroll System of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. 

Ambassador of Goodwill  (Summer 1992--Va. Port Authority Grant)  Taught management principles to schools in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, and Perm, Russia to help in the transition to capitalism.  Met with leaders to discuss ways to implement market principles and to expand their opportunities.  Made the initial contact for our existing Russia-TCC relationship.  (Summer 1995--Fullbright grant in Mexico)  Met and shared experiences with union leaders, teachers, businessmen, and politicians.

Management Audit / Return to Industry Grant  (Summer 1988)  Conducted a comprehensive analysis of a medium sized wholesale distributor, including financial statements, break-even estimates, and alternative marketing strategies.  Found irregularities and owner eventually re-organized.

Behavioral Consultant  (1974-1986)  Conducted programs which involved leadership styles, teamwork training, and interpersonal communication for a variety of corporate and governmental clients, such as IBM, Zerox, Hyundai, and the City of Chesapeake.

Grants Coordinator  (1974-1979)  Wrote and directed a CETA Project involving a manpower study.  Directed a Title 1 Project involving consumer awareness.

Expert Witness  (1972-1975)  Provided testimony concerning the present value of lost earnings in litigation involving railroad accidents.

Real Estate Salesman  (1977-1979)  Part-Time. Sold enough residential real estate to purchase my home.
