Welcome to Biology 101/102 Lab!
The objective of a lab class is to give students a hands-on introduction to the study of life. The lab is designed to bring an understanding of the various biological concepts to the student by using activities, experiments, worksheets, and group interactions. We will be using The Laboratory Manual for Starr and Taggert's The Unity and diversity of Life as our guidebook in lab class. It is important to remember that portions may be changed or omitted as I see fit. So please be flexible! You will need a laboratory notebook with blank white pages (a sketchbook) and colored pencils for lab meetings. Students need to be aware that lectures and labs are most often taught by two different professors and therefore, the topics may not coincide. Lecture and lab should be treated as two seperate courses!

  General Biology 101 Lab

Biology 101 labs are designed to give students a closer look at topics covered in the lecture portion of this course. Students will learn the importance of the Scientific Method, accurate measurements, and the use of microscopes to this discipline. Students will also be given the opportunity to see biological processes in action.

  General Biology 102 Lab

Biology 102 labs are designed to give students a closer look at the diversity and similarities of living organisms. Lab activities will include the observation of live and preserved specimens. Students will be expected to be able to identify the specimens and their unique internal and external anatomical structures.
  Forensics Lab

Not offered at this time.

Zoo Animal Behavior Biology 193 Lab

BIO/PSY 193 is an introductory course to the scientific study of animal behavior. The objective of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of the physiological and evolutionary basis of animal behavior. The student will also be exposed to experimental design, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.
